At the 20th Session of the Council in June 2012, Botswana, together with the USA, Mexico, Turkey and Slovenia co-pilot a resolution on The Right to a Nationality: Women and Children . The resolution seeks to reduce or eliminate the problem of statelessness. It focuses on addressing discriminatory legislation on granting of nationality to women and children, as one of the major contributors to statelessness.
